What you need to know about EPC's:
If you are selling, renting, constructing or refurbishing most buildings, you are required by law to have availble to your prospective buyer or tenant (this must be provided to the buyer or tenant without charge) an EPC - an Energy Performance Certificate.
What does an EPC show? :
Similar to the type of colourful A to G rating you may have seen when buying white goods such as Fridges and Freezers, this certificate shows a building energy efficiency in a sliding scale from A (very efficient) to G (least efficient).

How long do they last? :
An EPC and the recommendation reports are valid for ten years from date of issue - they are placed in a national register and will be kept there for twenty years.
